| 9:27 AM Oh, new month, new work hours (officially I'm supposed to start half an hour earlier, leave three minutes later, and have 15 minutes less for lunch than I did before), and so far a more positive outlook. It's a bit amazing. Had dinner with Jan and Candy yesterday. We were supposed to go for some restaurant launch or something but Jan wasn't into it so much cos she wanted to avoid some society figures. Chatting sessions with them are always nice. Beats chocolate. Then rushed home in time to catch the last half hour of Desperate Housewives. I missed the first episode last Monday because I had a business dinner. I think it looks intriguing so far - more interesting than Sex and the City, I think. I found the Mary-Alice narrating voice to be quite irritating for a while, but it's nice to see Teri Hatcher on TV again. Was too lazy to workout after I got home at 10 plus pm last night so I decided to push it quite reluctantly to this morning. I woke up at the crack of dawn (or is it before). I'd set my alarm for 5.11am. I woke up, hit the snooze (you'd probably hate me, Sif. ;-) ) but FINALLY woke up at 5.21am. Dragged my sorry ass out of bed, put on a bra, my ragged sad track pants. Grabbed my shoes and socks, pedometer, phone. Put on my socks and shoes. Reset my pedometer. Set my phone timer for 20 mins. Hit the air-walker machine. And there I went. I had always, always suspected that I somehow find it much harder to exercise in the morning then in the afternoon or evening. As I plodded my way on pseudo-treadmill, I thought maybe, like the fact I could drag my ass at 5 plus in the AM, maybe that wasn't true anymore. 20 minutes ended, and I checked my pedometer only to find I'd only barely did half a kilometer. The breath test as I was walking also indicated I was probably walking far slower than I usually walked when in the afternoons or evenings (I usually can do about 4-5km in 1 hour). But I was still sweating like a pig! Then had some breakfast while waiting for my brother to be done in the bathroom. Read the paper. Ironed my scarf. Got showered, dressed, ready to leave by 7am. Strangely though I still had to run and was 5 minutes late for work. Damn it. But considering how a little upbeat this morning, I think I won't mind exercising every morning. No matter how pathetic the mileage I score in the mronings, I think it's building the habit in that counts, right? Plan to hit the air-walker thingy again when I get home from work. Will add more mileage there. -
