My Bookshelf - want a book?

Friday, 18th March 2005 | 10:11 AM
Feeling fine

I've been at this for... wow... going on five years now and I've still yet to do a cast list. I have quite mixed feelings about doing one, because on one hand, writing in generic terms so far seems to have served me quite well. It allows me to reflect and distill my experiences better, and in the end I find it's not so much who does what to me that really matters, but more how I feel about what happened to me, and the recollection of my response. The general purpose of diaries after all. Recalling who did what is important only in general accounts of incidences, and helps keep details really straight, but on the other hand, considering I would like to consider journals are a record of personal and emotional growth I prefer to record some things and not others. Twenty years from now, I don't want to really remember the exact blow by blow details of how my boss always demands me for things which I never knew I should have because he hadn't informed me earlier that I should have these things and I, not having the ability to read minds, and not having done this before, hadn't thought that I should go looking for these things I hadn't known I should have. There is taking initiative, but there is also the fact that I'm not psychic.

So last night I got to talk to Mireillie! How freaking cool is that?! We talked for a real long time, and me as if I had so much money to burn on international calls LOL. But it was worth it, because she's great. I don't know whether I should get a calling card or just use cheaper IDD services via my mobile phone to talk to my American friends. Whether I get a calling card or use IDD on my mobile phone, I think the calls will cost the same. If I just pay the bills via mobile phone, I get to earn points, because my mobile service provider gives me 1 point per dollar I spend on them. Which is good, because I can then redeem those points for pretty decent stuff. On the other hand, calling cards will allow me to control my expenditure better. Hmmm. Either way, Mireillie, don't worry about the cost too much. I'll just buy fewer CDs with the my next month's pay. ;-)

So, things to do today:

  • Homework for French class tonight, to be done during lunch break today. No matter what, I must finish that short essay in that time. Would be good practice for when I take the exam.
Things to do this weekend:
  1. Unpack. Ok don't laugh at me, I'm a lazy ass, I know.
  2. Send multimedia card to develop the pictures or burn them into CD.
  3. Allocate which souvenirs are for whom.
  4. EXERCISE.

And now I must get back to work. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend, folks.
