| 3:47 PM I remember once during the Pre-University Seminar that I attended when I was in the first of year of junior college, we had a mock parliamentary session. Guess who I was? Minister of Labour. Haha. The purpose of the session was so that we ignorant, apathetic Singaporeans youth can learn more about our (limited) political process. It was pretty enlightening, and gives you a clue that it isn't that easy to be running the country. But still, as a citizen, I reserve the right to whine. ; ) Anyway, that experience came to mind as I spent my lunch hour today. Seeing as it's Ramadan and I can't eat/drink, I ended surfing the Net and learnt about Muslim stand-up comedians in the US (mainly that they exist and that they're funny and I should check them out). And then I spent the last 15 minutes of my lunch hour napping! I did this last Friday too. I couldn't resist. Work days can be soporific enough even without the fact that you're fasting and have to wake up BEFORE dawn to fill your tummy with food in preparation of the day's fast. On an empty stomach and being sleep-deprived, it's worse. And during the lunch hour the office is so quiet and empty.... so napping is irresistible. I wasn't fully asleep, but asleep enough to be refreshed once I awoke. And I hereby come to the conclusion that I ran the organisation, I am tempted to institute compulsory nap time for about 10-15 minutes each day. Heh. Our warehouse guys get it right after all. They always eat lunch, then spend the remaining time napping. I should do this more often - I'm more productive this afternoon than I ever was in other afternoons. Sorry for that bleh entry yesterday. Occasionally I get in such moods, as you would have noticed. I watched Laws of Attraction on DVD over the weekend. My thoughts? That they should have left the deleted scenes IN the movie itself, because that way it would look more probable that the Pierce Brosnan and Julianne Moore's characters were coming together and falling in love. It would also bring more vulnerability to their characters, especially to Moore's, and flesh them out better. That said, the whole time I had this sneaking suspicion that if you were to put any other lead couple in the lead for this movie, they might have made the movie more watchable. Darn it! Yet another paper cut! I don't know anyone else in this office who keeps Hansaplast by her PC on her desk. It would be a good reminder for me to get back to work now I guess. Thanks for reading! -
